You will be lent a motorcycle and helmet in most of these training classes. You will learn basic things to start off with, and then build upon this. The lessons are structured in an easy to understand way, and the instructor will be able to keep an eye on you to see if you do anything dangerous. This really is the best way to start learning how to ride a motorcycle, and you don’t have to worry about picking up any bad habits from anyone else.
You will learn how to operate the clutch with your hand, how to lean into curves, how to feel the engine and know which gear is proper and when to drop a gear for extra speed like when passing, dressing properly for safety and warmth, etc… The longer the program is the more you will learn and the more confident and safe a motorcycle rider you will be. Don’t just sign up for a shorter class because it is cheaper, you could be shortcutting your driving safety and this could cost you dearly. Motorcycle riding is dangerous, but can be made much safer with proper training and schooling.
