The practical hands on session normally uses the teenagers own car for two main benefits, they get to learn the limits of their own car and also how their own car handles. Some will also use faster cars and several different cars to prepare drivers for what could happen if they were driving someone else’s car and for worst case scenarios.
The situations in the classes are simulated, controlled and not dangerous as long as drivers follow the rules (which are laid out prior to any driving), they provide a way for the students to understand exactly what to do.
The classes aim is to not only increase their knowledge, but it also gets teenagers used to looking all around them when they are driving and being more focused. It’s important for drivers to be aware of everything that is happening around them and not just what is happening directly in front of them.
