Typically these large expensive wheels are popular with the 20 to 30 year old age group and can cost upwards of $2000 per wheel or more.  Due to their expense, many buyers are financing the purchase either on credit cards, a home equity loan or high rate store loan.  Payments can be as high or higher than a car payment depending on the expense of the wheels and the buyers credit. 

Some specialty wheels and rims can cost much higher.  As seen on various Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous type shows on MTV and VH1 the sky is the limit as some rap stars have diamonds and unique metals and such added for that extra bling or flair.  Basically, according to the authorities, the more unique and expensive the wheels, rims and tires the more likely some thief will want to steal them if given the opportunity.  It doesn’t matter if the rims are on a GMC Envoy, Cadillac SUV or a restored classic Buick, Plymouth, or even a completely custom ride.
